Invisalign at Our Waterdown Office

Panacea Dental provides Invisalign clear aligner treatment at our office on Clappison Avenue in Waterdown, serving patients from Waterdown, Burlington, Flamborough and the surrounding communities. Consultations are free, and we are open until 7:00pm on weekdays and on Saturday mornings, so appointments do not have to come out of your working day.

How Invisalign Actually Works

Invisalign moves teeth using a series of custom made clear plastic aligners. Each aligner is slightly different from the one before it, and each applies gentle pressure that shifts specific teeth a fraction of a millimetre at a time. Worn in sequence, those small movements add up to a straightened bite.

The process at our office runs like this:

  1. Free consultation. We examine your teeth and bite and tell you whether Invisalign is the right tool for your case, or whether braces would give a better result.
  2. Digital scan. We take a 3D scan rather than the older putty impressions. It is quicker and far more comfortable.
  3. Treatment plan. You see a digital preview of how your teeth will move and roughly what the finished result should look like, along with a timeline and a written cost.
  4. Your aligners arrive. You wear each set for about two weeks, 20 to 22 hours a day.
  5. Checkups every 6 to 8 weeks. Short appointments to confirm your teeth are tracking to plan.
  6. Retainers. Once treatment finishes, retainers hold the result in place.

Invisalign Compared With Traditional Braces

Neither option is better in every situation. The honest answer depends on your case.

What Invisalign Costs

Cost is the question we are asked most, and it is the one most websites avoid answering. Here is a straight answer: in Ontario, Invisalign treatment generally falls somewhere between roughly 3,500 and 8,000 dollars. Where your case lands inside that range depends on how far your teeth need to move and how many aligners that takes.

What affects the figure:

  • How much correction is needed, which drives the number of aligners
  • Whether one arch or both arches are being treated
  • Whether any preparatory treatment is needed first
  • Retainers, which we include in the plan rather than surprising you with later

Many insurance plans carry orthodontic coverage with a lifetime maximum. We will check your plan and submit a predetermination so you know your real out of pocket cost before starting. Payment plans are available. See our financial arrangements page for more detail.

Am I a Candidate?

Invisalign treats most of the common alignment problems, including crowded teeth, gaps and spacing, overbite, underbite, crossbite and open bite. It also handles orthodontic relapse, which is when teeth have drifted back after braces earlier in life, usually because retainers stopped being worn.

It is less predictable for severely rotated teeth, large vertical movements and some complex skeletal bite problems. Those cases are often better handled with fixed braces, and occasionally need a referral.

The fastest way to find out is our smile assessment, or simply book a free consultation.

Invisalign Questions

Cost depends on how much movement your teeth need. A short case correcting mild crowding sits at the lower end, while a complex bite correction sits higher. In Ontario most Invisalign treatment falls somewhere between roughly 3,500 and 8,000 dollars. We give you an exact figure in writing after your consultation, before you commit to anything.

Many plans include orthodontic coverage, often with a lifetime maximum that applies whether you choose Invisalign or traditional braces. Bring your plan details to your consultation and we will check your coverage and submit a predetermination so you know your out of pocket cost in advance.

Most cases finish in 9 to 15 months. Minor corrections can be done in as little as 6 months. Complex cases take longer. You will get an estimated timeline at your consultation once we have scanned your teeth.

20 to 22 hours a day. You take them out to eat, drink anything other than water, and to brush and floss. Treatment slows down if you wear them less, and that is the single most common reason a case runs longer than planned.

It is not usually painful, but expect some pressure and tenderness for the first day or two after switching to a new aligner. That feeling means the aligner is doing its job. Most people find it milder than the discomfort that follows a braces adjustment.

Yes, and this is one of the most common reasons adults come to see us. Teeth shift over the years, particularly the lower front teeth, and this is often because a retainer was not worn long term. Relapse cases are usually straightforward and finish quickly.

It depends on the case rather than on preference. Invisalign handles crowding, spacing and mild to moderate bite issues very well and it is far less visible. Some complex bite corrections and severe rotations are still handled more predictably with fixed braces. We will tell you honestly which is the better tool for your situation, including when that answer is braces.

Yes, and this part is not optional. Teeth drift back toward their original position without retention. We will discuss fixed and removable retainer options at the end of treatment. Skipping retainers is the main reason people need orthodontic treatment a second time.

Yes. Braces and Invisalign consultations at our Waterdown office are free. You will find out whether you are a candidate, roughly how long treatment would take, and what it would cost, with no obligation to proceed.
